Update on COVID-19/coronavirus and upcoming events

Dear Live Talks Los Angeles patron:

Like you, we are concerned about and have been closely monitoring the situation around the COVID-19/novel coronavirus. I want to assure you of my concern for the safety, health and wellbeing of all our guests, speakers and dedicated staff.

In line with last night’s recommendations from Governor Newsom, we are postponing all of our March and April events, and will work on rescheduling as soon as conditions allow. If you have purchased tickets for any events being postponed, you will receive an email with specific instructions for each event.

Of course, we’ll keep you apprised about events scheduled from April forward as soon as possible.

As the founding producer of this business, which is reliant on ticket sales from live events, I am extremely grateful for your support over these past ten years, and hope we can count on it going forward as we navigate these challenging times.

As always, we invite you to experience Live Talks Los Angeles via our video channel on YouTube. If you prefer podcasts, many of our events from over the last decade are available here

These are especially challenging times for those of us in the live event business. Thank you again for helping to make Live Talks LA possible. We couldn’t have made it this far without you.

Go on gently,

Ted Habte-Gabr,
Founder/Producer
Live Talks Los Angeles

We suggest the following, and the recommendations by the Centers for Disease Control and Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.

— Stay home when you are sick, except to seek medical care.
— Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, or use hand sanitizers with at least 60% alcohol as a secondary option.
— Avoid touching your eyes, nose, mouth, or face
— Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
— Cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze with your sleeve or an elbow.
If you use a tissue, dispose of it immediately.
— Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
— Avoid shaking hands and adopt other forms of greeting.
— Get a Flu Shot if you have not done so this season.

A nationally recognized non-profit organization, Ryman Arts was founded in 1990 to honor the legacy of legendary Disney artist Herbert D. Ryman. It has served over 6,000 teens from 190 communities across Southern California in its core program, engaged over 21,000 students from low-income communities through outreach, and is committed to reaching students with the greatest need to ensure all young artists reach their full potential.
